Maplewood Cemetery, was founded before 1845 in what was once Waynesfield Township. As the township was divided into smaller divisions, this area became part of Adams Township. The Cemetery and Town Hall stood  at the intersection of Bryne Rd & the Chicago Pike, (now Airport Highway). On was aquired the city of Toledo through the annexation of the township.
