The first land acquisition occurred in 1892 by a trustee for B'Nai Jacob. The earliest marker dates back to 1895. Over the years, the cemetery experienced multiple land transfers as additional congregations purchased portions of the property. Beth Shalom Cemetery shares a common property line with North Oregon Cemetery to the north, which may lead to mixed death records between the two sites.
